>> Hi, I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNET download.com and today I'm taking a first look at Zumobi. This app comes to solve the sticky problem of how to get the web content fast from a mobile phone and how to do so without laboring over ad-full mobile browser. A lot of other companies offer solutions that use widgets and Zumobi does too, but their solution has a twist. This 16-tile layout is divided into 4 quadrants, each controlled by a zoom hub that you can activate by pressing the center key or the corresponding number on your keypad. Zoom in once to see the quadrant and zoom again to select your tile. Each tile is entirely programmed by the merchants, so Amazon's tile is a mini-bookstore and Epicurious provides daily recipes. In each tile you can search, send the tile to a friend, rate a tile on a five-star scale, or interact with the banner ad if there is one by clicking 7 or 8. If the ad is for another tile, that ad will show up in your Zumobi inbox. When you're done with the tile you can navigate over to the Z button or press 5 on your keypad to zoom out. You can also add new tiles from the zero menu and move tiles around the screen to keep you favorites from the cluster. Okay, now for the breakdown. Graphically, Zumobi is very satisfying. There's a lot of attention to detail for a lot of gradeos and it's just got a very beautiful design. I also love that there's keypad integration. However, this first version has some bugs that it needs to work out in terms of zoom rendering and also making sure that all the tiles work as advertised. Also as fun as zooming is I don't wanna have to zoom in twice to open up a widget and I also think there needs to be a much easier way to move tiles around than replacing them and deleting them through the zero menu. Zumobi is currently available for Windows mobile phones version 5 and up. You can find that download at CNET Download.com and more versions are coming soon. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and you've been looking at Zumobi. ^M00:01:49 [ Music ]

Milemarker: "New Lexicon"

Here's what little we do know about Milemarker: They consider themselves a collective as opposed to a band. To boot, they are alternately known as the Milemarker Collective, the Milemarker People's Liberation Army, or the Milemarker Entertainment and Reprogramming Consulate. All of the band's members and ex-members bear identical tattoos of a multi-headed Hydra branded with the inscription "Cut off one head and another three shall grow in its place." And, umm, apparently their live show has inspired more than one case of self-immolation. Okay. Whatever the case, Milemarker have executed three albums for the cause; the last of which - an angular and future-rhythmic venture called Frigid Forms Sell for the D.C.-based Lovitt Records - was as inspiring a rock record as any of the classic revolution songs. And let's face it: records carrying a forward-thinking musical intuition and an atypical approach to political lyricism just don't come along like this every day. Milemarker's first release full length for Jade Tree, Anaesthetic, ignites further speculation on their high profile ambiguity before lending credence to anarchist author Emma Goldman and the subversive mantra she coined several years ago: "It's not my revolution if you can't dance to it."
