ZoneAlarm Video Transcript

ZoneAlarm *** Hi, I'm Jason Parker from Download.com and this is a First Look at ZoneAlarm. *** If you're not already using a secure hardware Router to protect against hackers and rogue programs, a software Firewall is a worthy alternative, and ZoneAlarm does a great job of protecting your data. *** Use the simple step-by-step wizard to set up your firewall and to get protection against hackers immediately. *** Once ZoneAlarm is installed you should expect the program to occasionally pop-up in the lower right corner of your screen asking you to give permission for common programs. Once ZoneAlarm learns your favorite apps, this will occur less and less. *** You can set the firewall to use varying levels of security using the Firewall button. You can select Low, Medium, or High, and ZoneAlarm provides descriptions so you can make the safest choice for your computer. *** You can also manually set permissions and security level for programs by clicking the Program Control button. From there, simply designate what level of security you want. You also can choose how ZoneAlarm should handle specific apps or add new ones so you don't have to see as many popups. *** Overall, we think ZoneAlarm does an excellent job for a free software firewall. For more protection, you can upgrade to ZoneAlarm Pro to get antivirus and antispyware protection as well. *** I'm Jason Parker and this has been a First Look at ZoneAlarm. Thanks for watching.
