The Viliv S7's small size and Netbook/tablet hybrid design are attractive, but its high price is illogical in a world of ever-improving and price-declining portables.

Logitech diNovo Keyboard Mac Edition

The Logitech diNovo Mac Edition looks sexy and is comfortable for typing, but it's a pricey upgrade for a keyboard that lacks integrated USB ports and backlit keys.

The sexy Harman Kardon HS 300 delivers sophisticated styling, solid performance, and better connectivity and speakers than last year's model, if you can look past the quirky interface and high price.

Yukyung Technologies Viliv P1 (30GB, red) Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Viliv P1 has a beautifully designed exterior, and its list of features is just as attractive: It offers audio, video, and photo playback, as well as an FM tuner and a transmitter. It can also record audio from the FM tuner or analog sources and connect to a television for video playback. A CompactFlash slot lets photographers transfer pics to the Viliv's hard drive, and the removable battery is a nice touch.

The bad: The button layout and onscreen controls are terribly designed, and the Flash-based interface is sluggish. Using the Viliv P1 is a pain, not a pleasure, due almost entirely to its cumbersome interface. It also can't handle a wide range of media, since it can't play any DRM audio or video, and audio battery life is subpar.

The bottom line: We wanted to like it, we really did--but the Viliv P1 needs to go back to the drawing board. If you want a portable video player, consider the Creative Zen Vision or the Archos AV500 instead.
