YouTube for Mobile 2.2 Video Transcript

>> Jessica: Very well designed and easy to use the free YouTube for Mobile is Google's native application for streaming YouTube videos to your mobile phone. I'm Jessica Delcourt taking a look at Version 2 of YouTube for Windows Mobile and Nokia's Series 60 phones. YouTube for Mobile is a relatively simple looking application with a search bar at the top, one feature video in the middle and buttons at the bottom to pull up the top-rated most viewed and most recently added videos on YouTube.com it also supports Landscape mode. If you search for a video the results are shown in a horizontal ticker there's a thumbnail for the video you selected and small thumbnail images for other videos that match your query. Below the preview images are the stats, the video's link, the user rating and a short description of the video. The image is a little small for our taste and we'd like to see an easier way to view more results at once or maybe jump to another result in the lineup when the result's list is just way too long. However, for a little extra guidance you can turn to the menu where you can search for related video content or you can return to the home screen to start a new search. The YouTube videos loaded pretty quickly for us and were easy to pause and resume by tapping once on the screen. Of course your data connection and the phone's capabilities will determine how well the videos play for you. Google says that its YouTube app picks the highest streaming quality fit for your phone and network connection so if you want better quality you may need to upgrade your phone. At any rate we recommend you have an all you can eat data plan before you start streaming videos with the Abandon otherwise costs will add up fast. I'm Jessica Delcourt this is YouTube 2.2 for Windows Mobile and Nokia's Series 60 phones. ^M00:01:38 [ Music ]
