>> Okay folks, let's talk tire tech here at the SEMA [assumed spelling] show in Las Vegas. Here's Yokahama's new tire for the Mini Cooper. You just need one. Kidding. It's actually the tire for a Boeing Triple Seven. Look at this big guy. The casing is strong enough to hold forty eight tons of load. That's like a fully loaded semi that had just one tire, this could do it. They can re-groove this thing or re-tread it three times. And by the way, tread life about eight thousand miles, a half a mile at a time as it skids in for landings over and over. Now let's get serious, check this out. Here's a big new truck tire that will be for real. This is meant to replace the duals on big commercial semi rigs. So instead of running two tires to carry that load, you have one. It's kind of a green argument. Don't go through more casings than you have to that are gonna eventually end up in landfills or who knows where else. Now check out a real green story. Now this tire is for your typical passenger car, so let's get real here. It's called the Super E Spec, and the E is yeah, E. It's a green tire. Instead of using petroleum and rubber, they use citrus oil and natural rubber. So the Petro chemicals come out. They same it performs like a regular old tire, and no you don't get lemony fresh burnouts, but you don't get these gummy, stick, Petro-based tires filling up landfills. I'll tell you this. It definitely feels different to the hand. I don't know how it performs, but it's a little less tacky or rubbery than you know, all the other rubber Petro-based tires here. So that's the Yokahama Super E Spec with super nano power rubber. Lot of supers in there, but it is a Japanese product, so no surprise. First citrus oil based tire we know of.

Two weeks ago, a random person on the Internet found my website and decided to post an entry in his journal bashing me to no end. It was the first time I had ever felt such hatred towards me, even though I'm not sure if the guy was serious about it or not. Although I believe that I could probably cut him up and belittle him more than he did to me, I have decided to not retaliate. He's merely 1 of 6.5 billion people on this planet. Why would I waste my time on this person? There's no reason to. That's why I wasted my time making a video that touches upon this incident instead. If you like wasting time, poor acting, self-mockery, unexpected plot twists, parodies, cliched endings, and an underlying "Brokeback Mountain" theme, then this video is for you!
Retailers prep for the masses on Black Friday
Shoppers around the nation set their alarms extra early to welcome Black Friday, the traditional start to the holiday shopping season. At electronic superstores like Circuit City, $299 laptops were among the first big items to sell out. As CNET News.com's Kara Tsuboi found out, people didn't seem to mind waiting in hour-long lines to buy fancy TVs if it meant cashing in on super savings.

So, instead of doing the obvious thing and working out what sort of band they are going to be, they conclude that they will be all of them at once. And then they'll make it all in a room smaller than the box room at your Mum's house. With whatever's lying around. That is, whatever's lying around - toy trumpets, kazoos, blah. This to conform to a cherished idea of Brian Wilson's that, in the studio, anything goes. "Whereas a band like Primal Scream simply want to BE The Rolling Stones for one album, then King Tubby on the next, and Royal Trux on another, we prefer to make references in miniature to the spirit of the records and performances we love and admire," says vocalist/keyboard player Alexis Taylor. Unlike most of their heroes and role models, however, Hot Chip prefer things to be slightly off or too loud or in some way odd, and set great store in the accidental nature of recording. Perhaps it is this that gives them the slightly homemade feel that permeates the whole "Coming On Strong," and makes it an album so high on charm.

"Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story" trailer
"Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story" is about a father who, for the love of his daughter, sacrifices almost everything to save the life of an injured racehorse and bring the promising filly back to her former glory. Ben Crane (Kurt Russell) was once a great horseman, whose gifts as a trainer are now being wasted on making other men's fortunes. Sonador, called Sonya, was a great horse whose promising future on the racetrack is suddenly cut short by a career-ending broken leg. Considered as good as dead to her owner, who also happens to be Ben's boss, Sonya is given to Ben as severance pay, along with his walking papers. Now, it will take the unwavering faith and determination of Ben's young daughter, Cale (Dakota Fanning), to bring these two damaged souls together in a quest for a seemingly impossible goal: to win the Breeders' Cup Classic. However, the true miracle might be that, in helping this injured horse, what they are actually healing is their own family. Kris Kristofferson stars as Ben Crane's father, whose strained relationship with his son is bridged by their mutual hopes for Sonya. The main cast also includes Oscar-nominee Elisabeth Shue ("Leaving Las Vegas"), David Morse ("The Green Mile"), Freddy Rodriguez (HBO's "Six Feet Under"), Luis Guzman ("Traffic") and Oded Fehr ("The Mummy"). The film is directed by John Gatins from his own screenplay, marking his directorial debut.
Jasmine and Donald are terribly tired of the Zune HD and iPod Touch, but there's nothing else to talk about (besides the wonders of fried food), so consider yourself warned. On the plus side, a cranky Jasmine is an entertaining one as she expounds upon the objectivity of spec-to-spec comparisons.
