>> Jessica Dolcourt: When Yelp first introduced this iPhone app we were a little underwhelmed but in version 2 we're seeing features that introduce a more personal touch including a way to publish your opinions of business from your device. I'm Jessica Dolcourt and this is your first look at the free yelp 2.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. Rating a restaurant or business from your iPhone wasn't an available option with version 1 of Yelp for iPhone, so it's a big feature addition to version 2. You're able to voice your opinion 2 ways. The first is to leave a quick tip which will top out at 140 characters. Stuff like don't miss out on the truffle fries or this place smells like cat. The second is to draft a review. Basically you assign the business a star rating and after you're done typing a full review or note you save it to finish and post later from a computer. While the quick tip and draft options are better than nothing, neither actually lets you publish a full rated review from the iPhone. Yelp clearly has more work to do on its most requested feature. The new app also comes with 3 feeds that list reviews, photos, quick tips and events. Filter by what's new nearby, your friends reviews, or your own history. You'll also notice that you can now view enlarged photos of businesses. Yelp's other features remain constant including the use of GPS to hunt down nearby establishments and a search field that also lets you filter listings by price, distance and neighborhood or plot results on a map. You'll also be able to browse your recent searches to revisit them faster and check out places you've book marked on the phone or on line. Yelp is a great service but still clearly has some gaping holes to fill in on the iPhone like letting users publish rated reviews from the phone. Also we'd still prefer it if Yelp brought Google's directions to you instead of kicking you to the Google map app every time you need directions. Never the less it's free and definitely worth the download if you frequently search for businesses nearby. I'm Jessica Dolcourt you've been looking at Yelp 2.0 for iPhone. [ Music ]
