Xobni 1.8 with Xobni Plus Video Transcript

>> Xobni is an e-mail manager for Microsoft Outlook that simplifies and speeds up searching for contacts and conversations. I'm Jessica Delcourt with download.com. We're taking a first look at Xobni 1.8. Xobni is a side bar that slides in and out of our Outlook in box. Xobni delivers significantly faster searching than Outlook, and it let's you open, reply to, and forward messages. Xobni can also pull down Facebook photos, Skype numbers, and linked in details if your contacts have public profiles. The free version of Xobni 1.8 features a revamped interface that's also faster loading. And now shows thumbnails of Facebook images in search results, not only in the profile screen. Xobni now also searchs the subjects of e-mail attachments. It stuffs more details into the information you see when you hover over a person or a message with your mouse. Another new feature is the Google search bar at the bottom of the side bar which opens the results of your search query in a new browser tab. You can hide the feature in Options if it gets in your way. These are great enhancements for Xobni's regular users, but the premium features in Xobni Plus raise the app to the next level in e-mail management. In addition to searching the attachment headings, Xobni Plus also searchs Outlook appointments and your task list. You'll now be able to search phrases and quotes, and can enter in boolean search, or build queries using the advanced search button. Another useful feature in Xobni Plus is being able to search the full text in a conversation. The free version let's you see conversations and filter e-mails by subject, but you couldn't do a full text search before. And the conversation view you can whittle conversations down to only those you've had directly with the sender. This will really help if you're part of a lot of CC conversations. Then there's the subtle but terrific feature, Xobni plus indexes the e-mail address of every person who has sent you a message and vice versa. Our greatest complaint is that Outlook must be expanded in order for you to see many of these new features. People like me who work with Outlook condensed into a smaller window may miss the extra features. Xobni Plus costs a one time fee of about $30. There's also a free 14-day trial so you can test out the features without committing. In addition, Xobni Plus users get a year of priority technical support and free minor upgrades for the first year. We highly recommend either product, the regular or the premium version for frequent Outlook users. I'm Jessica Delcourt, and this has been your first look at Xobni 1.8 and Xobni ^M00:02:32 [ Music ]
