Worst things about the iPhone 4S Video Transcript
Everyone sneered at the iPhone 4S when it came out...and then proceeded to buy them up at a clip that made every other iPhone before it look like a warm up act. But that doesnt mean they love the 4S all the time. Im B.C. with the Top 5 things we hate about the iPhone 4S, according to recent survey of hundreds of iPhone users by Change Wave Research. #5: Dropped calls. 8%. A fairly modest number but dont get cocky AT&T: ChangeWave points out this is very much thanks to Verizon entering the market and cleaning up the iPhones image as Mr. Butterfingers when it comes to holding on to a call. #4 Data coverage and speed. 9%. Nothing puts that knot in your stomach like the 3G indicator going off...when youre surround by towers...outdoors! But 9% of people said, yep, that happens to me and makes me wonder whats so smart about this phone? #3 Screen size, 11%. iPhone users look over at the person next to them and thnk , wow, what a cool tablet that is -- until they realize its just an Android phone. And then they turn back to their iPhone, screw in their monocle and squint. Apple needs to bump up the screen to at last compete with the smaller Android phones. Its a visual era, ample screen is no longer a luxury. #2 No 4G, 30%. This is big. 4G is the most sought new feature by people shopping for a smartphone. They dont care about the technology, they just want the phone to work online a little faster than a PC with a modem. Assume this will be done in iPhone 5. If not, assume Apple will have its first iPhone flop on its hands. Before we get to #1, here are the Top 5 things people cite LOVING about their 4S, led by Siri, the worlds most popular party trick...and followed closely by the still best in the business interface that translates to Ease of Use. Its amazing how much stuff you can sell when people know theyll be able to figure it out. The #1 thing iPhone 4S users hate about it is short battery life. Doesnt matter what your phone does if it isnt on. Apples longstanding policy on non-removable batteries means you cant carry a spare, which is a klugey PITA anyway, but Apple needs to improve this most basic behavior in real life. It may just be that iPhone users USE their phone more -- some surveys indicate that -- but thats not their problem, Apple. Ep. 1205: Is the Kin Spot for real?
We're encouraged by several things about Microsoft's messaging phones, but the name isn't one of them. Especially naming a button on it the Kin Spot. But we did figure out what they're up to. We think. Also it's a bad day for developers as Apple and Adobe's fight somehow ends up with Adobe's CTO talking about swinign chickens, and Twitter angers its devloper crowd by acquiring Tweetie. At least the US is changing it's tune on ACTA... oh wait, no it's just getting worse on that too. We hate Mondays.
