>> Jasmine: You won't have to look far to find an audio enthusiast who swears by wooden cabinets for their speakers, so that's why it doesn't come as a shock to find some earbuds that are encased in wood. These are the Woody's Inner Ear Stereo Earphones and they're the first earbuds I've seen that actually have a wood enclosure over the earpiece. Now some people will swear that this offers a more open and natural sound, and, in fact, perhaps, fittingly they sounded best for older styles of music such as jazz, oldies, classic rock and they didn't sound very good for modern rap and pop music. There are certain tracks for which the reverberation from the inside of the wood does get a little bit muddy and not the best that we've heard. The model that I have here is made for iPhones and other music phones and it does have an inline mic for taking calls; this one will cost you about $70.00 where as there's another model made for just standard MP3 players without the inline mic for $60.00. Now you don't get a whole lot of other extras just a few ear tips in the package as well as this little carrying pouch. But if you're looking for the most natural sound in the smallest package the Woody's earphones could be for you. I'm Jasmine France for CNET. ^M00:01:05 [ Music ]

Woodees Inner Ear Sound Isolating Stereo Earphones with microphone Review

The good: Woodees Inner Ear Stereo Earphones offer a unique design with earpieces encased in wood rather than plastic or metal. They sound more speaker-like than other earbuds, and several genres of music shine with great audio quality. One version comes with an in-line mic for use with the iPhone or other music phones.

The bad: The reverberation within the wood sometimes lends a muffled quality to the bass, and not all genres of music sound good.

The bottom line: The Woodees earphones feature a unique wooden earpiece enclosure that creates a sound more akin to that of speakers than earbuds. If you like open, natural-sounding audio, be sure to give them a listen.
