>> Hi I'm Will Greenwald at Las Vegas for CES 2008 and we're here to look at the Wolf king Warrior Xxtreme keyboard. That's Xxtreme with two x's, not quite sure why. Wolf king had previously had a gaming keyboard called the Warrior which is basically just this half of the keyboard. You had your basic gaming keys and that was it. If you wanted to do a lot of typing you had to use a full keyboard because you didn't have the rest of the keys. Now Wolf king has added the rest of the Quarty keys on the right-hand side of this device. You have full Quarty sort of stacked on top of each other or you can just keep your hand on this and type the rest of the letter with that. It's nice if you're not using voice chat and 1, 2 Talk smack and World of Warcraft and Counterstrike or anything like that. It has backlighting so it glows sort of a purplely, blue, kind of hard to tell under this lighting but it's got a nice glow. It's smaller than your average keyboard so it's something you can just stick on the side of your desk when you want to just type normally. I'm Will Greenwald for CNET and this is CES 2008. ^M00:01:06 [ Music ] ^M00:01:13

The Wolfking Xxtreme might appeal to some hard-core gamers with a more gamer-friendly key layout than a traditional keyboard. However, they would be better off with the much cheaper non-Xxtreme model, which costs half as much.

Wolfking Warrior XXtreme command pad Review
The good: Gives gamers more keys to work with, once they adjust to the new layout
The bad: Backlighting doesn't illuminate keyboard letters, only the keys themselves; no macro software or programmable hot keys; not enough features to justify the cost
The bottom line: With a more gamer-friendly key layout than a traditional keyboard, the Wolfking Xxtreme might appeal to some hard-core gamers. However, they would be better off with the much cheaper non-Xxtreme model, which costs half as much.
