>> Oh, hi. I'm Jason Parker from Download.com and this is a First Look at WinZip. An old standby for the PC using world, WinZip lets you open zip files and create encrypted archives to make your large files a little smaller and safer. WinZip's wizard interface makes it easy for anyone to open zipped files and will lead you through a step by step process for compressing large files. If you're an old hand at WinZip, you can also use the classic interface to access the old, familiar buttons to complete your compression tasks. You can also create an archive of documents that takes up much less space than your originals. As your documents change, it's simple to add the updated documents to your archive. If you need to create a password protected archive, just follow the step by step process in the wizard interface, which will guide you through setting up a foolproof password. Overall, we think WinZip is a solid program for opening zip files and it's many other features make storage and archiving a snap.
