>> Hello, I'm David Katzmaier, Senior Editor from CNET.com and this is the Winbook 46D1. This is a 46 inch flat panel LCD HDTV. You may know Winbook as a computer manufacturer, but like a lot of those computer manufacturers, it's time to try their hand making LCD tv's and this is one of the largest ones they have. The 46D1, pretty basic looking set on the outside. It's got this silver around the edge. These rounded corners, I'm not a huge fan of the rounded corners, but you know, to each his own. The bottom stand here matches with silver as well and of course this frame around the edge does set off the picture pretty nicely. The Winbook has a pretty decent feature set. Around back you'll find one HGMI input, which is actually less than a lot of HDTV's out there. It might be a deal breaker if you have two digital sources you wanna connect direct to the tv. In terms of picture quality, the 46D1 performs pretty darn well for it's price. Black levels were right on par with what we'd expect. Not spectacular, but then again, not too bad. When the picture's viewed from off angle it does seem to wash out a little bit more than a lot of the other LCD's we've seen, which is an issue if you have a lot of people from a lot of different angles watching the set. On the flip side, color accuracy was relatively good although in dark scenes it did kind of deteriorate a little bit. Overall again, it's pretty darn good picture for the price. That's a Quick Look at the Winbook 46D1 and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:25 [ Music ]

WinBook 46D1 Review
The good: The WinBook 46D1 is inexpensive for a 46-inch LCD TV; produces a relatively deep color of black; accurate primary color; solid standard-definition performance.
The bad: Grayscale gets bluer as image darkens; softer image with 1080i sources; below-average off-angle performance; only one HDMI input; no picture-in-picture; ho-hum styling; unresponsive remote.
The bottom line: Despite its rock-bottom price, the 46-inch WinBook 46D1 produces a surprisingly decent picture.
