>> Hey, what's going on, everyone? I'm Jeff Bakalar for CNET.com. Today, we're checking out Wii Motion Plus. Now Motion Plus has been out for a little while now, but we didn't want to review it until we got our hands on Nintendo's flagship game to work with Motion Plus, Wii Sports Resort. Now, before, we tried Motion Plus with Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis, and we found that it didn't really add much to the overall experience. Now that we've finally got to play Wii Sports Resort, we're getting a taste of what it is like to play a game that was made with Motion Plus in mind. Now, for the most part, Motion Plus does give you an accurate one-to-one control over objects onscreen. This was most notable when we played games like table tennis and Frisbee. You can really see your hand taking control of the action onscreen, and it works really well. All this aside, it's tough to give Motion Plus a final score because some games, including Wii Sports Resort, actually require you to have the attachment. So you'll need to use it whether or not you don't even like it. The same is said for games down the road, like Ubisoft's Red Steel 2. Now, fortunately, Motion Plus is bundled with certain games, through if you want to buy it separately, it's going to be $20.00. Now, we should note that if you're playing a game that must be controlled using the Wii remote horizontally, it's a good idea to take off Motion Plus before you do that. Keeping it on makes it really uncomfortable, and you can barely reach the one and two buttons. Now, if you buy Wii Motion Plus separately, all you're going to get is the little device, along with a longer rubber jacket that's going to accommodate the Wii remote's new longer size. Overall, the device definitely adds a new dimension to your Wii experience. It's just unfortunate that it wasn't included from the beginning. I'm Jeff Bakalar, and this has been our First Look at Wii Motion Plus. ^M00:01:53 [ Music ]

Wii MotionPlus Review

Editors' rating

The good: Allows for 1:1 movement onscreen for Wii games that support it; bundled with some titles.

The bad: Another accessory to buy; makes Wii remote longer; won't work with older Wii games.

The bottom line: Wii MotionPlus definitely provides some impressive moments in gaming; we just wish it was incorporated in the original Wii remote.
