>> Here's a fun idea. Instead of setting up an average ringtone to play whenever a friend calls you, why not choose a tone that plays whenever you call them? Better yet, make it a video. I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNET Download.com. This is a First Look at Vringo Mobile application 2.0 for Java phone. Vringo's awesome video ringtone service is such a great way to self-express; I'm surprised there haven't been any serious competitors so far. What there is, however, is an updated app that helps manage the service phone-side, so you don't always have to constantly change and share your video ringtones, or Vringos as the company calls them, from the web. The main focus of the app is your collection of video ringtones, which you can scroll through, play, and set as your outgoing Vringo. To pad your collection with more Vringos, you navigate to the "get more" button. You'll be connected to Vringo.com's gallery from there. New to version 2.0, you can now see thumbnails and higher quality previews that you can play before deciding to download a video to your collection, but choose widely, because right now you can only remove videos through your online account, not through your phone. But all of this will change soon. With Vringo 2.0, you also be able to share videos from the main interface. Selecting the hide button keeps the app running in the background so you can send and receive Vringos while you do other things on your phone. The app needs to be on, however, for the service to work. Here's my favorite part. You can also upload videos from your phone to use as your video ringtone. There are a few hiccups with this version of the mobile app, but you should still get it if you can because it costs you nothing to download, and there are a ton of free Vringos to use as your caller ID when you call a friend. At the time of this filming, version 2.0 only works for Sony Ericsson phones, but in a few weeks, it should expand to other java phones, and to the Symbian phones as well. I'm Jessica Dolcourt, and you've been looking at Vringo Mobile application 2.0. ^M00:01:52 [ Music ]
