>> Dong Ngo: Hello this is Dong Ngo for CNET.com and I have with me today the Voyager Q from NewerTech. Despite the name this thing won't take you anywhere. Rather it's a hard drive docking station. If you change your computer and want to hook up an old hard drive to a new computer so that you can transport data over, this is a device for you. You can also use it to instantly turn any internal hard drive into a removable external hard drive. The Voyager Q support both 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch internal hard drives of any capacity as long as they use the seta standard. Unfortunately does not support the older ETA also known as IDE standard. This means it won't work with hard drives that used to be probably 5 or 10 years ago. However this is its only short coming. The Voyager Q looks very much like a toaster with a top load slot that has a spring loaded latch that secures a hard drive of any thickness. On the front it has a on off switch that also works at the power and activity indicator light. On top is another switch that eject the hard drive. The hard drive can be replaced when the device is on and connected to a computer. This makes it very convenient if you want to transfer data between multiple hard drives. The Voyager Q supports all of the existing connections including USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and ESATA. In our test it's also very fast through boot speeds especially when used with the ESTA connection. We got about the same data through put as when the hard drive is connected directly to the computer. This means you can potentially install operating systems on the hard drive hosted by the Voyager Q without losing performance. It makes as a great tool to try out different operating systems especially when Windows 7 is coming out. [Background music] The Voyager Q hard drive docking station is available now for $100.
