Vizio XWR100 dual-band wireless router Video Transcript
-Most of you have heard of Vizio as a company that makes home theater products, such as TV or Blu-ray players. Now, the company wanted to help you connect those devices together, too. My name is Dong Ngo, and today, we'll check out the first networking product from Vizio, the Vizio XWR100 dual-band wireless router. Now, this router looks pretty good with a UFO shape and a shiny chassis which, unfortunately, attract fingerprint very easily. On the front, though you might not see it, is an array of lights, which are only visible when lit. On the back, the router has the same amount of ports: 1 WAN and 4 LAN. All these ports, unfortunately, are not gigabit. Meaning, if you want to have a home server, you might not want to serve data or movie streaming to many players at the same time. And speaking of streaming content, the router does have 1 USB port here to host an external hard drive. Unfortunately in our testing, the performance of this built-in network-stored feature is rather slow. So, if you want to be serious about data sharing or media streaming, you should think about a dedicated NAS server. To make up for that, the router actually worked really well as a wireless router. It has very good performance and very long range. The best part about this router actually is the price, costing just around $80 or even cheaper in some stores. If you're looking for an easy-to-use home router especially to connect your existing Vizio home entertainment products, this router is a must-have. For more information on its features and performance, check out the full review at CNET.com. There you have it. My name is Dong Ngo and this is the XWR100 dual-band wireless router from Vizio.
