>> Hi, I'm David Katzmaier, senior editor from CNET and I'm with the Visio VX32L HDTV. This is a 32 inch LCD flat panel television. You can see Visio went with also three tone look here. There's the black around the edge of the screen. There's this silver where the speakers are and then around the edges of the silver maybe you can see this little strip of white. White actually extends all the way to the back of this TV. So if you're looking at it from behind, it might blend into a kitchen. This little indentation here is characteristic of the newer Visio sets. I'm not a huge fan of it. It looks a little strange. And the stand itself has this piece of chrome on the front which again I think is a little bit out of place. But overall some people might appreciate the styling of this set. And there's plenty of connectivity on this television including two HDMI inputs, two component video inputs, a good selection of AD inputs including a set on the side of the television. And a PC input here for connecting computers. Feature wise it does include picture in picture and a good deal of control over the image quality itself. In fact, we did appreciate the fine tunable color temperature which is showing up on a lot of lower end LCDs this year and it actually does really include the color if you know how to tweak it. In terms of picture quality, the Visio actually turned in better performance than we expected for a relatively inexpensive set. Its black levels are actually pretty darn good. Again, not as good as some of the best LCDs on the market, but passable for a TV at this price range. And also color accuracy, especially out of the box, is better than a lot of LCDs. We also appreciate again, the ability to fine tune the color temperature. One of the things we didn't really like however when seeing from an off angle, the picture did wash out a little bit and become more discolored than a lot of LCDs. So if you're in a seating situation where people are going to be viewing it from the side, you might want to look at another set. And that's a quick look at the Visio VX320L HD TV and I'm David Katzmaier. ^M00:01:56 [ Music ]

Vizio VX32L Review

Editors' rating

The good: Inexpensive for a 32-inch LCD; produces a relatively deep shade of black; accurate color; usermenu color temperature adjustments; ample connectivity including two HDMI inputs and a PC input.

The bad: Poor off-angle viewing characteristics; some lack of shadow detail; funky white/black/silver styling.

The bottom line: The decent picture quality and excellent feature set of the VX32L HDTV make good on Vizio's bang-for-the-buck promise.
