>> Hi I'm David Katzmaier with cnet.com and this is Vizio's VP 322. This is a 32-inch flat panel plasma TV. You'd thought I'd say LCD there, didn't you? But this is actually the smallest plasma on the market, of course. It competes directly with 32-inch LCDs and pretty much looks very similar as well. Vizio included the standard glossy black styling on this TV around the sides and below the screen is a little thicker with the speaker down here. The stand, itself, does not swivel on this TV. Connectivity is very good for budget model. Around the side, you'll find 3HDMI inputs, one component video input, as well as a PC input so, nothing to seize out there in terms of what you can plug into this TV. The featured set is also pretty darn good. You can go in and adjust the color temperature which is a nice plus on a budget model. There's also a range of advanced options which we like to keep off for option picture quality but all things considered the feature set not too bad. Of course, there aren't a lot of extras on this TV like picture-on-picture and that sort of thing but again what would you expect for such an inexpensive set. When we took the TV into the lab, we really didn't expect that great picture quality in. We weren't disappointed. It really doesn't look all that great compared to a lot of the more expensive models out there. Of course, it does have relatively light black levels. Again, just because it's plasma, it doesn't mean it has good blacks. It's worse than a lot of the better LCDs we've seen. Color accuracy was another problem with this TV. It's green was one of the least accurate we've seen. It tended to make a lot of the green areas appear a little bit too yellow. On the plus side, however, it does lack the uniformity issues that plague a lot of the LCDs. It has really perfectly uniform picture across the screen and has also no off-angle issues. The picture looks pretty much as bright and as colorful even when you sit far off to the sides so that's a bonus course. On the negative side, it does tend to attract a lot more ambient light from bright rooms than a lot of the LCDs on the market. That's a quick look at Vizio's VP 322 and I'm David Katzmaier.
