That's because the video uses lights behind the speaker grill to indicate volume level and also for choosing and -- The system works well for volume -- it's easy to see how loud the sound bars buying. But for choosing input it's a little bit more confusing because you have to remember which like corresponds to -- and considering the small size of the subwoofer and the light feel the sound bar we weren't expecting much from the system but we were pleasantly surprised by its full body sent. The Vizio VHT510 adds rear speakers to the traditional sound bar design, resulting in outstanding sound quality at an affordable price, although we would have liked more inputs.

Vizio's competitive home theater sound bar

The Vizio VHT215 is a stylish sound bar with tons of inputs and solid sound quality, especially if you like the ability to adjust the sound. The competing Haier SBEV40-SLIM is a little better overall, but it's very close and the Vizio is definitely worth considering.

Vizio VP322

The extremely inexpensive 32-inch Vizio VP322 introduces a new size category for plasma, but its overall performance is no better, and often worse, than that of similar-size LCDs.

Vizio VIA

In addition to offering all of the standard Android features, Vizio's first tablet doubles as a universal remote control. Even better, the 4GB version is expected to cost only $349 when it debuts in the summer of 2011.

Vizio VF550XVT

Although better-performing 52-inch models are available for less money, the 55-inch Vizio VF550XVT will appeal to less-critical viewers who want a bigger screen.

Vizio XVT553SV

The Vizio XVT3SV series' excellent picture quality, thoughtful design, scads of features, and reasonable price combine to make the best value among high-end LED-based LCD TVs today.

Parrot Boombox

The Parrot Boombox wireless Bluetooth speaker system ably combines elegant design, minimalist aesthetics, and better-than-average sound quality at an affordable price.

V Vizio P50HDM

With commendable image quality and plenty of connections, the relatively inexpensive V Vizio P50HDM 50-inch plasma is the best value in its class.

Sony HT-CT150

Sony's HT-CT150 sound bar home theater system sounds great and is way ahead of the competition with its three HDMI inputs; however, its IR receiver limits the subwoofer's placement options.

Vizio GV46L HDTV

The 46-inch Vizio GV46L HDTV costs less than the big-screen LCD competition, but its picture quality isn't up to par with the company's other bargain efforts.

Vizio VHT210 Review

The good: Sound bar home theater system; compact design, especially the wireless subwoofer; no AV receiver required; better-than-average sound on two-channel music; excellent remote control design; useful "SRS True Volume" control.

The bad: No HDMI connectivity; only two inputs (one optical digital, one analog stereo); may not get loud enough for some; no DTS decoding.

The bottom line: The Vizio VHT210 sound bar sports an uncommonly compact design and sounds better playing music than the average in its class, but its input options are limited.
