Vizio S4251W soundbar packs wireless surround speakers and industrial style Video Transcript
-Hello, tech fans. I'm Luke Westaway for CNET here at CES 2013. I'm taking a look at the Vizio S4251W Sound Bar. Okay, so let's take a look. This is a 42-inch sound bar and it comes with two wireless rear speakers. Now, the thinking behind that is that you get the best of both worlds. You got the easy set up that comes with a regular sound bar that you just stick unto your television but you get the fun surround sound that you get from having the speakers at the back as well. As if that wasn't enough, you will also get this chunky wireless subwoofer. And I want to talk about this remote because this is quite interesting. Very, very unusually, you've got a display on the remote here which means that you get easy set up options right from your sofa. You don't have to get up and press the little buttons on the sound bar itself. Vizio has got a new look for us in 2013 take and I have to say that I'm quite impressed. As you can see, it's got a sort of chic, very minimalist---- industrialist is probably the right word. That's the kind of look that they seem to be going for this year. You can't see because it's fixed to the wall, but this sound bar comes with a ton of inputs. You've got optical, coaxial, analog, and minijack inputs amongst others. And best of all, all the cables that you're going to need for all of those connections come in the box which has a really nice touch. It also comes with Bluetooth built into it. That means you'll be able to hook it up to your smartphone or tablet or laptop, whatever you like really, anything Bluetooth-enabled and play your music through the system. The sound bar itself has eight driver units while the subwoofer has a 6.5-inch driver inside it. I've had a sound demo. I've had to say it's sounding really impressive. The surround sound certainly makes a big difference. It will really separate this, I think, from other sound bars where you just get that front facing wall of noise coming at you. So, quite a lot to look forward to, I think. This unit is coming out in the spring and it's going to cost around $330, so you better start saving your money now. I'm Luke Westaway for CNET and this is the Vizio S4251W Sound Bar.
