>> A party just isn't a party without music, and that's why there are programs to polish your playlist. I'm Jessica Dolcourt with CNET Download.com and today we're taking a first look at Virtual DJ. When the program opens, you'll be able to choose your interface from four options, basic, power audio, full audio and video and internal mixing. I'm going to choose power audio. On the deck, you've got your two turntables, volume control and cross fades. The loops sampler and effects menu let you play with sound effects and you can always scratch manually with the turn table. The bottom half of the screen is where you build your playlist. You browse the left column, do your music collection in the middle column, and create your playlist in the right column by dragging over songs. Click the padlock icon to lock panels into place. You can drag and drop songs into either of the decks or use this arrow button to launch your playlist.
