>> I'm Nicole Lee, assistant editor at CNET.com and this is the Virgin Mobile Slice previously known as the UT Starcom PCS 1400. It is a very thin phone, a very thin candy bar, very reminiscent of the Motorola Sliver actually. I'm down to the very flat keypad, very flat controls. Pretty tiny, kind of crowded, not too fond of the flat keypads here. On the left side here is the headset jack and on the right side is the volume rocker. There's not too much to say about the features on this phone, it's pretty basic handset. There's no camera, there's no music player. You can text message, there's some email functionality, you can also access the Web with the phone. But there's no Blue Tooth, no instant messaging, it's pretty basic for Virgin Mobile. Overall the Slice didn't really impress us in terms of the feature set. But if you want a pretty affordable nice looking phone with, you know, basic functionality this is the phone for you. My name is Nicole Lee and this is the Virgin Mobile Slice. ^M00:01:03 [ Music ]

UTStarcom Slice (Virgin Mobile) Review
The good: The Virgin Mobile Slice is a small and skinny candy bar handset that features a wireless Web browser and a speakerphone.
The bad: The Virgin Mobile Slice has a tiny lackluster screen and a membrane keypad that's too flush to the phone's surface.
The bottom line: The Virgin Mobile Slice is a slim and lightweight phone, but its tiny, hard-to-press buttons, small screen, and lack of features make it less than perfect. However, its affordability still makes the Slice an attractive option for those who want a thin phone without a carrier contract.
