>> Hi, This is Eric Franklin from CNET.com and today we are looking at the ViewSonic VLED221wm. The first thing that strikes us about this display is this thin panel. The panel is about 1-inch thick. It also has a very wide foot stand and when knocked from the side we found it was very sturdy. The screen tilts back about 10 degrees, but the display lacks ergonomic options like screen-hide adjustment, rotation and pivoting. It includes built-in speakers, but we found that the built-in speakers were kind of lacking in bass. The display includes an uninspired, onscreen display or OSD with limited options. The connection options include DVI, VGA, but no HDMI inputs. As far as performance goes we appreciate that the display performed well in movies and games. We especially like the deep blacks the display is capable of when watching movies. The ViewSonic VLED221wm is a well performing monitor, but it's too expensive to recommend. If you're looking for a 22-inch monitor, we recommend checking out the Gateway HD2201. Once again this is Eric Franklin, this has been a first look at the ViewSonic VLED221wm. ^M00:01:13 [ Music ]
