>> Jasmine France: If you're looking for a suitable gift for your iPod toting 11 year old daughter I have maybe just the thing for you. I'm Jasmine France and I'm here with the Vestalife Butterfly speaker system and unfortunately the best thing about this system is kind of the cute design. They didn't really dedicate a lot of space on here for speakers. You just have these 2 tiny speakers on the front and then the rest of it's pretty much hollow. However, it does have a cute design and it comes with a couple of different interchangeable faceplates, which is fun. All you're missing is like a unicorn flag that'll pop out of the top and sparkle. Now it does have a fair amount of features actually. You do have the interchangeable iPod docs here in the front. It should work with any docking iPod. There's also an auxiliary line input here on the back, as well as battery compartments, so this can run off of 4 AAA batteries and you have the standard auxiliary input as well as a USB pass through port which means that you can connect this directly to your computer for sinking without undocking the iPod and that can come in handy because it does charge it while it's plugged in to wall power. Just a couple controls here on the front. You have a power button and volume keys, any other playback controls have to be adjusted on the iPod itself. Now the speaker isn't exactly super cheap. It's going to set you back $79, but you can probably find a little bit of a better deal online than that and come on it is pretty cute. I'm Jasmine France and this is in the Vestalife Butterfly. ^M00:01:17 [ Music ]

Vestalife Butterfly Review

Editors' rating

The good: The Vestalife Butterfly offers a cute design with interchangeable faceplates; it works with all docking iPods and other MP3 players; it charges the iPod and allows for pass-through syncing; it can run off of batteries.

The bad: The Vestalife Butterfly suffers from cheap-feeling plastic construction, and sound quality is poor.

The bottom line: The Vestalife Butterfly is an appropriate choice for iPod-toting tweens of the girlie persuasion, but anyone with an ear for sound should steer clear.
