>> Hi, I'm Bonnie Cha, Senior editor at CNET.com and today we're taking a first look at the Verizon Wireless XV6900. So, basically, this is Verizon's version of the HTC Touch. And it's very similar to the ones we've seen the Unlock version and Sprint's version, but it does get this nice white coating here. It's really an attractive smart phone that I really like, especially with Verizon's red highlights there, but you do lose the soft touch finish, so it's a little bit sleek and be careful that you take care of the plastic and make sure it doesn't crack. You still get the TouchFLO interface, so you'll be able to operate the phone with your finger swipes and kind of rotate through the menu that way, which is pretty cool. Feature-wise it's got Bluetooth, EV-DO. There's no Wi-Fi, but I think with the EV-DO, you'll be okay. It's also running Windows Mobile 6 Professional edition. I'm a little disappointed that Verizon, kind of took out the Windows Live integration and it doesn't support any of their multimedia services, whereas Sprint does. And Sprint also includes preloaded instant messaging applications. So for that reason I think Sprint's version is a better value if you're not stuck in a contract that will go with that one. But for now, the XV6900 is available for 249.99 with a two-year contract and after discounts. I'm Bonnie Cha and this has been your First Look at the Verizon Wireless XV6900.

The Verizon Wireless XV6800 comes with most everything a power business user will need from a smartphone, but its less-than-stellar call quality gives the Samsung SCH-i760 the slight edge.
The Palm Treo Pro for Sprint offers plenty of features and satisfactory performance, but the carrier's business customers will get a better user experience from the HTC Touch Pro.
The HTC Touch HD dazzles with its large, high-resolution touch screen, but the smartphone's feature set and performance is average at best. You can get much more for your money.
Verizon Wireless XV6900 Review
The good: The Verizon Wireless XV6900 is an attractive and compact smartphone with a cool touch interface. It's also equipped with Bluetooth, EV-DO, Windows Mobile 6, and a 2-megapixel camera.
The bad: The XV6900 lacks Wi-Fi, and unlike the Sprint HTC Touch, Verizon doesn't offer its entertainment services or preloaded instant-messaging clients on the device.
The bottom line: Verizon Wireless XV6900 is a stunning smartphone with a cool touch interface and generally good performance, but the Sprint version offers a slightly better value for your money.
