>> Nicole Lee: I'm Nicole Lee Associate Editor for CNET.com and this is a first look at the Verizon Wireless Escapade, one of the few world phones available from Verizon Wireless. That means that this phone has a dual mode CDMA/GSM chip so you can use the Verizon network when you're in the US and when you're abroad you can use the included SIM card on any GSM network in the world because it supports quad-band GSM. On the front here is a very simple 1 inch display that displays color as well as the typical photo caller ID and so forth. Flip it open and you do get a very nice 2 inch colorful display here. Underneath that you do get the number keypad. The overall keypad as you can see here is quite flat so it's not very easy to dial by feel. Features of the Verizon Wireless Escapade are fairly simple. You do get the 2 megapixel camera; you also get GPS support with turn by turn directions. You also get stereo Bluetooth as well as typical messaging, email and web browser features. The Verizon Wireless Escapade is available for 29.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and a 2-year service agreement. You can get one of the most affordable world phones available from Verizon Wireless.
