>> I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for CNET.com and this is a First Look at the Verizon Wireless Blitz. As you can see here, it looks like a pretty squat, fat-looking phone, but that's because it hides a slide-out QWERTY keyboard right here. It is a dedicated messaging phone, but it's also pretty good multimedia phone as well. As you can see, there's a pretty nice, two-inch wide display here and the QWERTY keyboard is really, really easy to use. The numbers are highlighted in blue, so it's really easy to dial as well and of course as you can guess by the messaging phone part of it, it's also really easy to use for texting. Features of the Blitz include a 1.3-megapixel camera. There's also a music player as I mentioned before and the music player is compatible with V-Cast music with Rhapsody, however you can't download songs over the air because the Blitz doesn't have EV-DO. There's also email, text messaging, there's a very simple web-browsing on here. So even though it's a pretty squat looking phone, it's actually very functional and because of the QWERTY keyboard, it's great for text messaging fanatics. While the Verizon Wireless PN-300 won't wow anyone with its design or feature set, we really liked its simplicity and ease of use. The great sound quality makes this a good phone for those who just want a phone to make calls.
Despite a few niggling design issues, the Samsung Rant is a great messaging phone for Sprint customers.

The good: The Verizon Wireless Blitz has a vibrant display, a cute and compact shape, and an excellent QWERTY keyboard. Call quality was good as well.
The bad: The Verizon Wireless Blitz does not have EV-DO, and even though you have access to V Cast Music, you can't download songs over the air.
The bottom line: Despite its lack of high speed data connection, the Verizon Wireless Blitz is a great phone for messaging fanatics.
