Toshiba 47L7200U Review
The good: The Toshiba L7200U series LED TV has good video processing and its passive 3D system shows almost no crosstalk. The Web browser actually works fairly well, in part thanks to the included wireless QWERTY keyboard. The TV's well-stocked feature set also includes a unique program guide and cable box control, as well as four pairs of 3D glasses. Sleek external styling exudes plenty of high-end appeal.
The bad: Poor shadow detail and contrast in dark areas leads to disappointing image quality for such an expensive TV. Color accuracy wasn't up to the competition, and uniformity suffered from brighter edges and visible backlight structure. Passive 3D showed occasional artifacts and moving lines. The EPG and box control features are limited, and the Smart TV suite has less content than most.
The bottom line: Toshiba's L7200U LED TV comes loaded with features, but mediocre picture quality makes its high price tough to stomach.
