Top 5 episodes Video Transcript

Welcome to CNET Top 5, where each time we meet, we count down another hot CNET list. I'm Tom Merritt. This is the last Top 5 I'll be doing for CNET, so I thought I'd take a look back over the last four years of Top 5s and see which ones you watched the most. Not too teary-eyed or anything, just a half-decade check of the Top 5 zeitgeist Let's count down the Top 5 Top 5s: At No. 5, the worst downloads of the fall. Every show featuring worst downloads does well, but somehow in the fall of aught-nine you were really in the mood for some bad downloads. The Free Picture Finder still cracks me up. Coming in at No. 4, Reasons NOT to get an Apple iPad. In these situations I usually do one Top 5 that's positive and one that's negative. And I'll tell you the negative always is the more popular. And negative toward the iPad was the most popular. Up to No. 3, The top-rated products of 2007. Remember 2007? Back before the recession. Before the dark times...before the Empire! And what was the top-rated product of those carefree days? The Canon EOS 1D Mark III. Those were happier times. Sliding in at No. 2, 2009 tech predictions. An end-of-the-year classic, the predictions show usually ranks well. In 2008 I predicted Android would outsell iPhone. Which it didn't in 2009. But finally this month it appears like it may finally be true. I waited for this day! Mwahahahahaha. Before we get to No. 1, Let's take a look at the rest of the Top 10 Top 5s.I forgot all about that Mac vs. Windows one. All right. Let's get to our No. 1. The most popular Top 5 I ever did, with twice the number of streams as the No. 2 episode. At No. 1, it's... Free software. Do you know how happy I was when I saw this on the traffic report? I'm a huge believer in free and open-source software and apparently so are many of you. Doesn't mean I don't pay for software when I need to. But like y'all, I love the free. And a lot of the free is really good. Like the five I mentioned in this one! Well that's it for me on CNET Top 5. The show will be in the capable hands of Commander Brian Cooley from here on out. Thanks for watching all these years. And thanks to past producers Chris Pavey, Laurence Campling, and our current proucer Sarah Harbin for all their hard work making the funny things happen over my shoulder. Y'all made the show. I'm Tom Merritt. See you on the Internet!

Today's episode of The 404 Podcast deals with a lot of movies, which makes sense after last night's utterly forgettable Academy Awards, or so Wilson claims, because he forgot to watch. The awards committee certainly isn't lacking a sense of irony after selecting Sandra Bullock for the Best Female Performance in "The Blind Side." The actress also won the Razzie for Worst Female Actor in "All About Steve."

Don't worry, the video you're about to watch features three fully clothed nerds talking about the best of CES 2010 for The 404 Podcast's last show LIVE from the CNET stage here. We've rounded up the funniest stories from this year's show for this wrap-up episode, starting with Jeff eating his hateful words about 3D PS3 and Xbox 360 Game Room.

Kent also gets an early look at the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G and, thankfully, it's a huge improvement over the G1. Plus, we debate the appeal of the LG Watch Phone: is it a do or a don't?
