>> I'm Donald Bell here for CNET at CES 2008. I'm here with the Tonium Pacemakers, 120 gigabyte MP3 player that's also a DJ mix device. It allows you to store all of your tracks into 1 device and mix between 2 channels of the device so you create entire 2-track mixes on the device like you would 2 turntables and a cross fader. You can store your mixes, record them directly to the device and then upload them to a piece of software also made by Tonium. You can share those mixes online; there's an online community built around the Pacemaker as well; it's a 120 gigabyte player; it retails for about 700 dollars; it's due out in March and I'm really excited about it. It's a very interesting application of MP3 player technology. I'll be very interested to do my review for it in March. So for CNET I'm Donald Bell for CES 2008 showing you the Tonium Pacemaker. ^M00:00:53 [ Music ] ^M00:00:57

BOL 1039: Look Timmy, Papa's got Wi-Fi in his chest
We started by reporting on the amazing technology that allows pacemakers to wirelessly transmit diagnostic info to a bedside device making the pacemaker safer and doctor visits shorter. But we found the most compelling fact the idea that this would be WiFi. Which we think should mean hotspots and a mesh network. It solves a lot of problems. Think about it. Also no Apple, Twitter or Google news today. Sorry. There is a robot story.

Tonium Pacemaker (120 GB) Review
The good: The Tonium Pacemaker is a DJ-oriented portable audio player with professional-grade audio quality, switchable headphone impedance, Mac and PC compatibility, and an inventive mix recording feature.
The bad: The Pacemaker's price may be too high for armchair DJs and its features and form too restrictive for club use. Like most DJ equipment, the Pacemaker takes some practice to master.
The bottom line: As a pocket-size sketchpad for DJs on the go, the Pacemaker is peerless.
