Today in Tech History: July 23, 2008 Video Transcript

Hi, I'm To Merritt. It's July 23, 2008, and here's what happened today in technology history. A busy day. An early early adopter, Dr. Ernest Pfenning of Chicago became the first owner of a Ford Model A in 1903. He could order it in any color as long as it was black. Fox bought he patent for the Movietone sound system today in 1926, one of the first sound systems for recording sound onto film. The American invasion of Europe began in 1962, the TV invasion. It was today that Telstar delivered the first TV link between the US and Europe. And 34 years later in 1996 the first commercial HDTV broadcast began from WRAL in North Carolina. I think one guy may have actually had an HDTV to receive the broadcast too. One things for sure though. You'll be able to receive another round of Today in Tech History, tomorrow. See you then!

What happens when one extremely popular tech TV show with an attractive female host blatantly takes the slogan of a much lesser known Internet radio show with three mildly humorous, if not a bit awkward, post-pubescent manboys?
