>> Hi, I'm Molly Wood, it's July 20, 2008 and here's what happened today in Technology History. On this date in 1960, a Polaris missile was successfully launched from a submarine, the USS George Washington for the first time. The Polaris was a submarine-launched, two-staged, solid-fuel, nuclear-arm ballistic missile, and the George Washington was the first US missile submarine. Also today in 1969, Apollo 11 successfully landed the first man on the moon -- hurray! And then today in 1976, the Viking 1 Lander successfully landed on Mars. It was a big day for landings. And that's it for today's tech history, but we'll be coming in for a soft landing tomorrow with more trivia in the hold.

It's a boat, it's a car, it's a submarine! At the 2008 Geneva auto show, we took a peek at the underwater concept car that's been popping up around the news lately. Equipped with oxygen tanks and a front sensor, this car is definitely an eye-catcher!
Today in tech news, Hulu launches its subscription service and we're thinking about going over the top (maybe next year). Also, FarmVille is apparently so prevalent that it forced a Firefox update ... or, put another way, Firefox gets a little bit broken so that FarmVille people can be happy. Sheesh. Steve Jobs sends more email, Kindle for Android arrives, and we fight for a while about Froyo.

Tom Perkins shows correspondent Lesley Stahl his latest project: a submarine.
Our first look at Land Rover's new design, from the 2008 Detroit auto show.
At Apple WWDC 2008, Steve Jobs reveals the map of countries and carriers that will be getting the next-generation iPhone beginning July 11.
Chernobyl, space crashes, and plane crashes. It's a terrible day in tech history.
Molly Wood puts together a slightly unexpected list of tech gift ideas for Mother's Day this year. Happy shopping!
Happy Windows 7 Day everyone! Much to Wilson's chagrin, there is indeed another operating system out there, and the new version just came out today.
