>> Hey everyone, welcome to Tekzilla Daily, I'm Veronica Belmont. Now if someone will try to hack into your computer, would you know it? Someone found a hole in your firewall and was able to remotely control your machine, would you be any more the wiser? Well, fortunately, Vista Home Premium and Ultimate Editions have a hidden tool called Account Auditing that will create a record of any attempted access to your computer. Open the Start menu, type local security policy and hit Enter. Select Local policies then Audit policy. Now double click the Audit account logon events and now you'll be able to choose whether to log successful logon attempts, failed attempts or both. Click OK, then do the same for Audit logon events. Where are these records kept? Open the Start menu, type event viewer and click OK. Click Windows logs in the left side bar, then security. And now you can rest easy, knowing that if someone is trying to access your machine, you'll know about it. Got a tip for us to pass along to the rest of the TZ crew, e-mail us at tekzilla@revision3.com. And as always, tekzilla.com, it's "the Place" to find more tips, tricks, product reviews and how-tos. ^M00:01:13
