>> Hey everyone, welcome to Tekzilla Daily, I'm Veronica Belmont. The dock in OS X is pretty customizable. You can rearrange icons, change the size and even its placement on your desktop. Today, I've got one more tip for you to make the dock a bit more user-friendly. Follow along. Open your applications folder and navigate to utilities, then open the terminal. Type defaults write com.apple.Dock showhidden minus bool YES. Now take a look at the bottom of your screen because those capitals are important and hit Enter. Then restart the dock by typing killall Dock with dock capitalized and hit Enter again. Now when you hide the program, its icon in the dock will be see-through. How cool is that? Sure it's pretty low on the utility scale, but really can be handy for keeping track of which docks are hidden at a glance. Now if you have a tip or trick that you wanna share, then e-mail us at tekzilla@revision3.com. And don't forget tekzilla.com, it's "The Place" to find more tips, tricks, product reviews and how-tos. ^M00:01:05
