>> Welcome to Tekzilla Daily. I'm Veronica Belmont. If you've just switched to Vista, you might find that some of your older applications don't play nice with your new OS. Fortunately, Vista has built in a compatibility mode that will run a specified application under a previous version of Windows that's more compatible. Just right click your troubled program's icon and select "properties." Choose the compatibility tab, and you'll be able to choose certain settings for that program to run with. You can choose to run as XP or even all the way back to Windows 95. Other settings include running at 640 by 480 resolution or downsizing to 256 colors. While this will remove most Windows related issues with software compatibility, it won't handle hardware incompatibilities. But if you're running across some issues running older software on your Vista Machine, try out the handy, dandy compatibility mode. Got a tip for us to pass along to the rest of the TZ crew?
