In February 2003, Lookout Records released the critically acclaimed "Hearts Of Oak," a gem of a record that received accolades from Spin, Rolling Stone, Magnet, the New York Times, MTV. Touring and promotion in support of "Hearts" was massive and included 5 US tours, a run in Japan and the UK and an appearance on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien." A brief respite from touring was required mid-way through his second US run, when his vocal chords became enflamed due to the rigorous schedule of radio station visits, in store performances and nightly gigs. Ted began a new regimen of vocal warm ups, fewer shows in a row and a dram less Irish Whisky and found his voice to be stronger than ever. In early 2004, in between some short tours, Ted began to write his fourth solo album. Motivated to keep pushing himself as a songwriter, performer and cultural critic, he shut himself in the basement of his childhood home in New Jersey and began to write. The songs that resulted in "Shake The Sheets" are fresh, smart, and passionate. Producer Chris Shaw proved to be the perfect partner for Ted and his sonic vision for the album. Well known for his work in producing the last 2 Bob Dylan albums, Shaw has also worked on many other diverse projects, from Dashboard Confessional, to Bell Biv De Voe to the classic Public Enemy album, "It Takes a Nation Of Millions to Hold Us Back." A perfect combination for Ted! Ted Leo is an artist who is well poised for a career with no limits. G.A.S. Drummers: "Miamized"

# We started back in 1998 from the ashes of other previous hardcore/punk bands in our hometown, Jerez in South Spain. We rehearsed a lot and recorded a couple of demos. We managed to support Randy in their spanish tour of ?99 and after that Slide Chorus made us an offer to release our first album ?Proud to be nothing?. # Once the album was released we toured non - stop, and we played in every place possible in Spain, including the Islands. In summer ?00 we toured europe for the first time with our friends PPM. then, back to spain we managed to play big shows with bands like No Fun at All or Undeclinable. # In early 2001, we toured Europe again in the well known ?Stronger than Metal tour?, which led us to meet great bands on the road as the Donots, Against time or 5 days off. Later that year, we toured Spain with Adhesive and right after we flied to the Uk to rock along 10 days with Twofold. Then we played at the Deconstruction Tour in Portugal. # In June ?01, New Horizon Records released ?Proud to be nothing? in north america. In summer ?01 the band their basement to create ?The True Charm of Bourgeoisie?. We signed to Wild Punk Records to release the album in Spain. In september ?01 we went to ?Pig Studios? in Granda, Spain (same as for ?Proud to be Nothing?) and we repeated with Javi PPM as the producer. # In march ?02 we toured Canada. We did 10 shows in the states of Quebec and Ontario with a successful result. Then, in october ?02 we did a 21 dates european tour along 9 different european countries to present the latest album. It was the best tour ever for us! # In 2003 we signed to BCore Disc, and we worked hard to finally record "Dialectics" in September '03. The album was produced by Paco Loco (Australian Blonde, Steve Wynn...) at Odds Studios in El Puerto, very near our hometown Jerez. # "Dialectics" is no doubt the finest workpiece we've ever done, a very own soundfield where we feel really confortable. As always our touring plans this time are definitively serious, so watch out there!

The Rapture: "Get Myself Into It"

The Rapture was formed in early 1998 by drummer Vito Roccoforte and guitarist/vocalist Luke Jenner. The whimsical indie group had extensive touring behind them by the time they recorded 1999's Mirror for Gravity. More touring ensued -- with the likes of Sunny Day Real Estate and Nuzzle -- and the band eventually relocated to New York City. They lost their original bassist and found a new one in Matt Safer, who had recently moved from Washington, D.C. After some more touring, the band recorded the six-song Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks EP and had it released by Sub Pop in 2001. Thanks to their sloppy brand of scratchy post-post-punk, the Rapture was hailed as a forerunner of the post-punk revival that was taking place in the early 2000s. Their profile increased significantly with 2002's "House of Jealous Lovers" 12"; that same year, they added multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Andruzzi to the fold. The full-length Echoes followed for Gary Gersh's Strummer label in late 2003. The follow-up, Pieces of the People We Love, was released three years later by Mercury.

"Annie Hall" trailer (1977)

Woody Allen's wonderfully neurotic Alvy Singer falls for the equally neurotic Annie Hall and movie history is made. As talk-show host Conan O'Brien put it, no one plays "lovable befuddlement" like Diane Keaton, and no one creates romantic comedies quite like Woody Allen. Existential angst has never been so entertaining. Arguably Allen's best film, "Annie Hall" took home Oscars for Best Picture, Actress, Direction, and Screenplay (cowritten with Marshall Brickman).

Midlake: "Young Bride"

Every once in a while, a band comes along that undoubtedly evokes something special. You don't know what it is, but you are certain that they belong set apart from amongst the crowd of musical peers in which they lay. You quickly find yourself coming to the foregone conclusion that this band's music is to be revered and will remain relevant for some time to come. Midlake has not only embodied this idealism in the hearts of many already, but with the introduction of their latest album, The Trials of Van Occupanther, they are making it a reality. Midlake formed in the small, quirky Texas town of Denton. There the five diligent musicians toiled to create a sound that was pleasing, as wellas their own. Soon enough they were discovered by Bella Union Records owner and Cocteau Twins bassist, Simon Raymonde. Simon fell deeply in love with the band, and together they began to cultivate a relationship built upon sharing Midlake?s music to the world. The band continuously worked day and night to create what would become their debut album, an album of incredible vision, talent, dedication and eccentricity: Bamnan and Slivercork. Released in June of 2004, Bamnan and Slivercork became a instant favorite for many critics and fans worldwide. After a series of touring stints both domestic and abroad, Midlake rapidly found themselves being embraced by a much larger fan base than ever before. Included in the group was actor and skateboarding legend Jason Lee (My Name is Earl, Mallrats, Almost Famous, etc.). Jason joined forces with Midlake as a huge supporter, promoter, and collaborator, directing and filming a video for their single, Balloon Maker. In June of last year, Midlake appeared with Jason on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson where they were received with an overflow of wonderful reviews. Midlake then retreated home to begin work on their next musical venture. With a desire to reach further within and accomplish something even more unique and of their own, Midlake's determined efforts produced The Trials of Van Occupanther. Tim Smith, Singer/Songwriter for Midlake says, Compared to Bamnan and Slivercork, this album uses less keyboards in favor of acoustic guitar, piano, more vocals and electric guitar. The sound is something more related to 70s folk rock but not in a gimmicky way, hopefully. I have a great affinity for those bands from the 70's, the music just seems to move me more. So when writing this album of course those sounds came out in the music. With the album available worldwide, and critics touting them as a 2006 ?Band to Watch", Midlake is set to further the momentum rapidly growing by delivering an album that is sure to merit such high expectations. The Album Leaf: "On Your Way"

Jimmy LaValle, perhaps known best for his work in the contemplative dream-rock outfit Tristeza and San Diego's The Black Heart Procession, began releasing delicate, progressive instrumental work as The Album Leaf in 1999(the name comes from a Chopin piece). After years of labor-intensive touring and tinkering with complex tracks in his cramped bedroom studio, LaValle was repeatedly offered a rare invite from Icelandic phenoms Sigur Ros and Mum to record his newest solo opus in their Mosfellsbaer studio. He finally accepted and flew overseas to compose and record "In A Safe Place." With the addition of vocals (absent from previous Album Leaf releases) from The Black Heart Procession's Pall Jenkins, Sigur Ros' Jon Thor Birgisson, and LaValle himself, the songs on the new record are chillingly delicate and more pop-based than ever before. "In A Safe Place" masterfully negotiates the spaces between minimal electronica and neo-instrument rock.
