To resell an iPad, or any gadget really, you need to keep it looking as pristine as possible. This means investing in a good case to prevent little dents. Obviously a ding here and a ding there doesn't affect the device's capabilities but for the prospective buyer, a newer looking gadget is lot more appealing. Same goes for the screen. Since the iPad's retinal display is a huge selling point, keep your screen scratch free with a good screen cover. You'll benefit too with fewer fingerprints and less glare. When initially purchasing your device, skip Apple's tempting offer for free engraving. While the service can personalize a gift or identify the iPad as yours, it makes it a lot harder to resell if you're info is all over it. And finally, keep all of the original packaging that comes with your iPad. The box, inserts, user guide and even all the plastic wrappings and packaging.
