>> And today we're taking a first look at the Tangent Quattro Internet radio receiver. This is a dedicated tabletop box for people who want to listen to thousands upon thousands of streaming radio stations. It works over a Wi-Fi wireless connection, there's no connection for hard wiring and Ethernet connection, or dial up connection. There's no built in AM FM radio on this. There's no Ipod doc or any of that. There is an auxiliary input on the back if you want to put your MP3 player through it. But more then likely if you're going to be paying the $350 dollars to get this thing, you're going to be getting it because you are a radio nut, and you want to listen to thousand of internet radio stations. We like it's design, we like the sound quality, even though it's a mono speaker, the sound quality is really exceptional on Tangent Quattro. What we didn't like is that despite how small it is, and it's cool design, if you wanted to put this on a bookshelf somewhere, you have to take into account that it's got this huge powerbrick that you have to somehow disguise behind some books or behind a table. There's no way to power this off of batteries, or off of something a little more discrete. Besides from using the Tangent Quattro to stream Internet radio stations, you can also use it to stream music from another computer in your home, but we didn't really find that function to compelling because you're controlling the tracks on this little two line LCD screen. But we really like, you know, to browse Internet stations by genre, by country; we found a lot of really cool recordings. Another feature on the Tangent Quattro is the fact that you can use it as an alarm clock. We don't recommend it, however. Two things, it has a really small, snooze button on the front here, that I can't imagine if I'm flaying [assumed spelling] around in the morning, and I'm trying to shut off the radio, I'll probably throw this thing across the room before I'd actually hit the snooze button. The other thing is that it is going to look for your wireless network to find music. And if you're like me, your wireless network at home is a little shoddy, so I wouldn't won't to depend on my wireless network to wake me up.
