And thanks to Graham who sent a very long nerdy email about how the iPhone probably won't come to Verizon while they're still strictly CDMA and they won't be transitioning to LTE until 2010 but even then the network might be too small to support an iPhone rollout unless of course Verizon's Altell acquisition helps them increase the robustness of their GSM network and of course it's POSSIBLE Apple could bend an make a CDMA phone since there are SOME countries other than the U.S. that are CDMA, but really, honestly, we just don't know. Ok, moving on. Forever. I also wanted to give an update to Ben, who asked for a countdown timer on the new cnet.com/live page. We have that now. Ask and ye shall receive. Ok, let's start the show with some birthday wishes, shall we? Jono from Australia writes: I hear it's Tom Merritt's Birthday soon, so I want you all at CNET to do one of those funny skit things for us to watch :D. You are all going to creep up to Tom's office with party hats, streamers etc. behind your backs. Someone ring his phone in a muffled voice and with a private number and say something threatening that requires him to open the door... You all stand there like the infected from left 4 dead but the computer froze, and then after about 10 second of standing still you all scream "SURPRISE" and through streamers at him. Pleeaaaassseee!! Something to brighten up the show! I don't know, I was entertained enough just by the idea. But we'll throw him a fun little off-camera party. Next up, Marco writes from Mexico to say: I love Cooley's Car Tech videos and i have a question about the latest at this point (2009 Mini Cooper Convertible) At 1:21 Cooley starts talking about how he likes to drive and arrange windows openings and at 1:25 he says "...to reduce *inaudible*" Can you tell me what he said there and what did he meant by that? Sounds like an interesting Pro-tip :) I played it back, Marco, and he said, "buffeting." That's like, when the wind sneaks around the closed window and then punches you in the face, basically. And apparently, if you roll down the back window, too, not as much of a problem. Good tip, top-down motoring types. Moving on, Jimmy has a layup for me. He says: Dear Molly Wood, I was wondering if CNET had reviewed The Sims 3? Yes, honey. Here's what I did. I went to cnet.com, and I searched for 'Sims 3.' And look what I found! The Sims 3 review. You'll be happy to know it got four and a half stars. Moving on, here's a very insightful email about a recent how-to I did. It says: To the producer's of the "How To"- "Hide embarrassing books on your Kindle"-date 18-06-09 Are the producers 12 or 13 year olds??? It is bad enough that Moly did not put down her foot and say "No, this is childish" (yes, Moly, I know you have to pay the bills but where did your common sense that I always liked go??? Books, embarrassing? what a shame. K. Talat Muskara p.s. people are putting there limbs and lives to be free to read. Wow. Right? Yeah. Don't be embarrassed about your trashy novels, sister girl.
