A stylized hands-on look on the redesigned Ford Fusion Video Transcript
The Fusion was beginning to look kind of stoggy, so Ford redesigned it. Gone is that three-bar grille and the square roof line. Now, for 2013 it has this more complex grill. This is what we've seen in the Fiesta and the Focus. The roof line also has changed dramatically. The taper is back and it's graceful curve going back towards to the trunk (lift?). The car comes with a number of choices of engines. There's a 1.6 liter and 2 liter ecoboost. Ecoboost means direct injection on turbo charging, so that should be pretty fast. Now, this is the hybird and for 2013, Ford took the engine size from 2.5 liters down to 2 liters which means it should get about 45 miles per gallon average, a nice fit for a car this size. And this Fusion includes the latest version of MyFord Touch and Sync and a bunch of drivers assistance features such a blindspot detection, adapter cruise control and the really cool automatic parking system which will identify a parallel parking spot and turn the wheel for you as you just control the brake and the accelerator. The Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Ecoboost is due on sale on fall of this year. I'm Waybe Cunningham reporting from Detroit.
