>> Hi I'm Tom Merritt, Editor from CNET.com here at CES 2008 joined by the Spykee robots here. This is a series of robots coming in the fall. The Spykee right here is the first one you'll see. He's a Wi-Fi controlled robot so I've got the laptop here and by pressing the arrow key s on the laptop I can move him around, make him go backward or forward, hopefully not off of the table here; and because of that Wi-Fi connection I can control him from anywhere in the world; so if he's in Austin, Texas and I'm in San Francisco, I can actually see what he sees, move him around, and hear what he hears. There's a web cam here, there's a microphone, so it's not only a really cool video conferencing tool but you also have the ability to keep an eye on a sick child, or maybe watch your pets, things like that. It also has a video surveillance mode where you can turn him on and if he sees something, a little alarm goes off; it can also take a picture and post that. It takes video as well, you can save that video; the interface here will let you do a whole lot of other things. He'll be available in September for $299; he also has a family coming in October--this is the Spykee cell controllable from a cell phone, also comes with an iPod dock, and then we have the Spykee miss and a Spykee vox. They also have iPod docks and emotions. You can guess probably by the looks of them what the emotions will be. Getting back to the Spykee one last time. You're able to configure him three different ways; you can either make him a robot like this or he can also be a moon rover or a scorpion. The Spykee Vox 149 dollars; the Spykee miss also 149 dollars; the Spykee cell 199 dollars; and the Spykee 299 dollars coming in September.
