>> Hi, I'm Jasmine France, Senior associate editor for CNET.com and I'm here today with the Sony Rolly, which is an MP3 Player. And it's not just an MP3 Player, it's a portable speaker with an MP3 player built in, but it's also a robotic dancing egg thing. Anyway, it's a lot of different things, but let's just kind of take a look at it for a minute here. As you can see now, it's in the open mode. And these are little speakers on the sides here that has these little flaps, which will open and close as it dances. It also serves to help the acoustics of the player itself. The controls are very unique on this player. It has these two wheels built around the sides here, which allows it to roll and dance around it. It also lets you control the device, so if you push it forward a little bit it will go forward through tracks. If you push it back, it will go back through tracks. Now if you tilt it, one way or the other, it actually has a G-sensor technology in here, so it can sense which way you're holding it and this changes the controls on the device and also causes sound just to come out of one speaker and now when you're holding it like this, the bottom controls the volume and then the top skips your tracks. A couple of other controls that you should know about, there's a Play Pause button here on the top and then here in the back, there's an On Off and Bluetooth switch because this is compatible with Bluetooth speakers. And finally, you have a mini USB port on the back for connecting it to computer and transferring songs. Now the other characteristic you wanna keep in mind with this device are the two color LED rings around each side because these actually can be programmed to go with the music and they can display up to 700 different shades of colors, which is pretty neat especially in the dark. ^M00:01:47 [ Music ] ^M00:01:58
>> Now of course the most exciting thing about the Sony Rolly is the dancing and as you can see, it really likes to move. But you know what I'm not really the best person to be reviewing this device. >> I mean really now, why does this thing keep moving. I don't know, I don't know about the taste, I don't -- that doesn't taste very good. I don't know. There's light and -- wait, wait, wait, what's going on in here. Oh, no, no, no. I wanna carry it away, but it's just keeps moving. It feels okay, making this noise, though. I don't know, I just don't know how I feel about it, but you know it's kind of boring.

The bottom line: It's an MP3 player. No wait...it's a speaker. Is it a robotic dancing egg? Actually, the Sony Rolly is all of those things. But mostly, it's just a pricey musical toy for gadget heads who have everything--including some cash to burn.
