Hey, there. I'm Josh Goldman, senior editor at CNET and this is the look at the Sony Cyber-shot HX300. It's Sony's new top of the line mega zoom featuring a 50x zoom lens that goes from a very wide 24mm out to 1200mm. Now you can shoot a lot of stuff with that including probably your neighbors in their house, but that's beside the point. Anyway, the camera has a nice fold-out LCD on back, EVF so you can use the view finder instead of the screen in bright light. Nice zoom control on the barrel of the lens, plus there's a switch on the side that allows you to switch between auto-focus and manual focus. And the manual-focus can be handled with the barrel zoom control. So other than the really long lens you get a 20 megapixel sensor, a whole range of shooting options including full manual and semi-manual controls. Basically, what you have is a very full featured mega zoom ready-to-shoot just about anything. I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Sony HX300.
