>> Hi this is Kent German, senior editor here at CNET.com. Today we take a first look at the Sony Erickson Z750A, this is an unlocked GSM phone. Sony Erickson doesn't make a whole lot of flip phones, but you can see this is an example of one. It is a very bright pink, might be a little bright for some people so it does come in a gray model as well, which is just a little more subdued. The phone is very shiny, it sparkles, it reflects a lot. But it does catch fingerprints and smudges as well. Wasn't really in love with the external display. Did like that it's vertical, you know, that's kind of cool, that's very in right now. But it is very small, it only shows the time, the date, that kind of information. And you can't use it as self portrait for the camera, which is too bad considering it's a two mega pixel camera. On the outside also, I felt the plastic casing just felt the tiniest bit cheap, really wasn't impressed with that. Phone feels okay on the hand, and the opening mechanism feels sturdy, but just wasn't really in love with that. You can see that this extends just a little bit above there, that's a unusual touch, probably where they stashed the antenna. A little big too for a flip phone. See the camera lens right here, here on the side there's a volume rocker, and there's a dedicated button for the music player. This isn't a Walkman phone, but it does have a music player, and it does just about everything a Walkman phone does. Here on this slide you have the mic or [inaudible] slot, and here on the bottom you have the headset jack and also the charger jack. Inside the phone, very nice display inside, really liked it, very beautiful, crisp, very good colors and images. Favorite feature on the inside actually was the navigation keys and keypad buttons. Really had a nice design, was very impressed with them, very easy to use. Could really text quickly and dial numbers quickly on that keypad. Keystar plastic, so they kind of feel maybe just the tiniest, tiniest bit cheap, but overall very tactile, easy to use. Navigation toggle in the middle, raised just about the surface of the phone, could be maybe a tiny bit higher but otherwise good. On the back of the phone you do have a single speaker, that is for the speakerphone and for music and everything like that. Typically we don't like phones that, when the speaker faces the back, but I, we didn't think this was a problem. One thing I did notice is that the phone had, was a little sluggish, the menu system was the tiniest bit slow. I'd open something and the menu would just kind of pop up and then I'd log into things, and just the tiniest bit slow, just a couple of seconds. Not a huge deal, but not really what I'd expect.
