>> Kent German: Hi. This is Kent German, senior editor here at cnet.com. Today we are going to show you the Sony Ericsson Z310a. This is a new phone for AT&T service. Sony Ericsson doesn't get a lot of their phones to the US carriers, so well, we are always excited to see that happen. This is a more basic phone than we're used to seeing. Typically we have seen a lot of Walkman phones with AT&T. It comes in several colors. This is pink; it also comes in a bronze and a black version. On the front we have just kind of a glossy, so it looks like there is nothing there but actually you press a side button here and you will see an external display. It doesn't stay there for very long now. Shows the time, the date, and all that kind of stuff. You have a camera lens here. Here in the side we have some volume marker, and an infrared port. Otherwise we are pretty devoid of features on the outside. Just a speaker here on the back. Inside we have a pretty nice internal display. Lots of the usual high-resolution Sony Ericsson standards. And moving down to the keypad buttons the navigation controls. Was a little mixed about these, I found the buttons, just not very tactile. They are just kind of raised just a slightest bit in the navigation controls but when you press them you just don't get real good push feeling, so don't always know if I actually pressed it. Moving down to the keypad buttons, these are flat but the ridges between the keys are raised so also they are also brightly lit for dialing in dim situations, but kind of little hard to tap really quickly if I was texting or something like that. Power button isn't especially flat. I was searching around for it by feel a little while ago and could hardly find it. So I really had to look. It's kind of a mid-wage phone useful for making calls but none of the walkman or really high-end camera features we've seen in other Sony Ericsson handsets. I'm Kent German and this is the Sony Ericsson Z310a. [ Music ]

Sony Ericsson Z310a - lush pink (AT&T) Review
The good: The Sony Ericsson Z310 cell phone has a solid feature set with Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and an Infrared port. Photo quality was also good.
The bad: The Sony Ericsson Z310a feels somewhat cheap, and its external display isn't very useful. Also, call quality wasn't the best.
The bottom line: The Sony Ericsson Z310a would work as a weekend cell phone, but it's not the best option for heavy callers.
