>>Hi I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor for CNET Reviews and this is a look at the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1. It's a great fast performing ultracompact camera featuring Sony's 10 megapixel, back illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. The sensor allows for better low light photo quality among other things and just slide the lens cover down in front and the camera comes to life exposing the internal 4X zoom lens. Most of the controls are handled through the 3 inch touch screen display though there are buttons for power, shutter release, playback and zoom. Sony's refined the touch screen interface from previous models including adding the ability to rearrange the options you want displayed on the right side of the screen simply by dragging them over. Shooting options are all point and shoot oriented but there are plenty to pick from. Most notably are the sweep panorama mode that requires just a push of the shutter button and you just sweep the camera from left to right, up and down or vice versa and the camera stitches everything together for you in seconds. There's also a high speed full resolution burst mode capable of ten frames per second though you have to wait for the camera to store the photos once they're snapped.
