[Music] ^M00:00:03 Hi, I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor for CNET Reviews and this is a look at the SONY Cyber Shot DSCH55, it's a 14megapixel compact mega zoom, featuring a 25-millimeter equivalent wide-angle lens with a 10X zoom, and it's one of the company's highest quality G lenses to. The camera also features a bright, 3-inch display on back, HD movie capture, SONY sweep panorama mode, and a basic manual mode for those who want to play with shutter speed and aperture settings. Controls are basic and straight forward and the interface is easy to navigate thanks to large text and a streamlined layout. Shooting performance is on the slow side, particularly shot-to-shot times, it's not horrible but if you are looking for fast, the H55 isn't. Lastly, while I'm not generally impressed by the photos from compact mega zooms, particularly lower priced models, the H55 is capable of turning out some excellent pictures. Like most compacts though, the quality noticeably drops off above ISO 200. Photos are usable at sensitivities up to ISO 1600, but give it plenty of light and you will get far better results. Video quality is merely okay, but you do get use of the optical zoom while recording. I'm Josh Goldman and that's the SONY Cyber Shot DSCH55. ^M00:01:27 [Music]

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55 (Black) Review
The good: Compact, lightweight design; good features for the money; capable of snapping photos with excellent quality.
The bad: Slow shooting performance.
The bottom line: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H55 is a compact megazoom camera that is capable of taking some excellent photos, just at a leisurely pace, but at a good price.
