>> Hi, I'm Lori Grunin senior editor with CNET.com and this is the Sony Alpha DSLR A700. This is a really nice camera. I'm very fond of it and I really enjoyed shooting with it. The grip has a great indent. Your middle finger falls right into it and provides an extremely solid gripping experience. It has a nice big navigation joystick, which you use to cycle among the different menus. Unlike a lot of digital SLRs, it doesn't have a monochrome LCD up here to tell you what your settings are. The focus switch that lets you choose between auto focus, single auto focus, continuous auto focus, manual focus, it's kind of hard to operate. The body is extremely well made. It feels solid. I'm not crazy about the kit lens, which feels a little plasticy. It's very lightweight though if that's what you're looking for. Instead of relying on optical image stabilization in the lens, it uses censorship image stabilization, which Sony brands with its steady shot. It uses relatively high resolution, large three inch LCD which makes it very easy to read the displays. Sony makes a really nice use of the real estate on it. And when you want to zoom in to view how sharp your 12 mega pixel images are you can zoom in 13X. This also has the iStart auto focus which will begin focusing the lens the minute you put the camera up to your face. In order to prevent false starts Sony has also added a grip censor. There's a single memory recall slot on the mode dial. And in order to switch among the different presets you have to switch the dial out and back in order to bring up the relevant screen. This camera produces really nice images and its fast for its class. I'm Lori Grunin and this is the Sony Alpha DSLR A700. ^M00:01:57 [ Music ]

Sony Alpha DSLR-A700 (with 16mm-105mm lens) Review
The good: Exceptionally streamlined, comfortable shooting design; broad, functional feature set, including sensor-shift image stabilizer; excellent photo quality; fast burst-shooting performance.
The bad: A few design quirks.
The bottom line: A top-of-the-line amateur digital SLR camera, the Sony Alpha DSLR-A700 will delight Konica Minolta diehards and makes a great choice if you don't already have a stake in other lens systems.
