The Smart ForStars is your own mobile drive-in
Created: 09/28/2012
Video description: Drive-in movie theaters maybe hard to find, but the Smart ForStars concept is a vehicle that comes with its own projector so you can turn any wall into your own private movie theater. It's also a funky-looking vehicle that runs on electric, but that's beside the point. CNET's Antuan Goodwin gives us a look at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

The Smart ForStars is your own mobile drive-in Video Transcript

-Hi guys, this is Antuan Goodwin with CNET.com. We're on the floor at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and we're at Smart booth taking a look at the Smart ForStars. Now, what kind of stars you may ask for, probably the self-absorb type and we like to take time to look at their own stuff all the time. Because the interesting thing about this vehicle is that it's got an LCD projector built right into the hood. So, you can pretty much pull up to any wall, power the thing on and project the movie or TV show right there making your own drive in theater out of any parking spot that you can find. The other interesting about this vehicle is that it's fully electric barring at 6-kilowatt motor from the SMART BRABUS electric drive. Now, that's about 80 horsepower in regular people terms and about 99-pound field torque. Top speed is 80 miles per hour and that's kind of not really in auto van kind of car. This is a small city car with small city power. Now, they have an actually published arranged for the 17.7 kilowatt hour lithium ion battery, but the standard Smart electric drive gets about 87 miles on a charge. So, we're guessing that it's gonna be somewhere in that neighborhood. You also can't really ignore the funky looks of this vehicle. It's got sort of a squat that's booked longer and wider than your regular Smart ForTwo and even though it's bigger. It only still seats 2 passengers. It basically uses all of that extra space for storage space in the back for your bike or whatever else you wanna toss back there as you motor around the city. This is pretty much about its concept. Its concept car is getting with that LCD projector and that glass roof that I haven't even really talked about, but I'm thinking that some of these angry looks that you see from the front ender kind of a precursor of what we can expect to see from Smart in the future. Well, I'm Antuan Goodwin with cnet.com on the floor at the 2012 Paris Motor Show taking a look at this Smart ForStars.
