>> Donald Bell: Hey. I'm Donald Bell, senior editor for digital audio and MP3 and today we're taking a first look at the Sleek Audio SA6 earphones. Now normally we don't shoot a lot of videos for earphones, but the SA6 earphones are pretty unique. These are the first earphones I've seen that have a interchangeable set of plugs and filters you can use to shape the specific tone you get out of the earphones. So the SA6 earphones [inaudible] cost about $250.00. So having this feature does not come cheap. But for people who are really particular about shaping the sound of their earphones, or if you have slightly different hearing in one ear or the other, and wanted to be able to compensate for that, these could be a way to do some very subtle compensation from ear to ear. There's a total of three different sets of rubber stoppers for the bass port, for either cutting the base down or increasing it, or one that's just for a neutral setting. There's also different ear sleeves. The very tip of the SA6 earphones, there's these little interchangeable filters for either boosting or cutting high frequency detail. It sounds good in theory, but in practice, for $250.00 earphones, these weren't exactly dazzling compared to other $250.00, $200-$250.00 dollar options. But there's something really cool about being able to kind of choose your own distinct sound signature by interchanging the parts. So I'm Donald Bell, and that was a first look at the Sleek Audio SA6 earphones. ^M00:01:33 [ Music ]

Sleek Audio SA6 earphones Review
The good: The Sleek Audio SA6 in-ear headphones offer rich detail in the low frequency range and a unique modular design that lets users tune the character of the sound quality to suit their tastes.
The bad: The modular design of the Sleek Audio SA6 means there are a lot of little parts to lose. For the price, we were hoping for better high-frequency clarity.
The bottom line: The Sleek Audio SA6 earphones deliver above-average sound quality and an unprecedented modular design, but there are better earphones available in this price range.
